Dehradun, August 23, 2026: A Managing Committee Meeting of the union was held in Dehradun on Sunday to deliberate on issues concerning the welfare of bank employees, strengthening the organisation, and the emerging challenges facing the banking sector. Senior office-bearers, bank officials and representatives from various regions participated in the meeting and held detailed discussions on several important issues.
The programme commenced with the ceremonial lighting of the lamp. Among those present on the occasion were Mrs Isha Nautiyal, DRM, Dehradun Region; Mr Anupam Mishra, Chief Manager-HRM, Dehradun; Union President Comrade A.K. Mathur; General Secretary Comrade Y.K. Sharma, along with senior office-bearers and representatives of the organisation.
The meeting discussed the rapid changes taking place in the banking sector, increasing workload on employees, technological transformations, challenges related to customer service, and various issues concerning the interests and welfare of bank employees.
Speakers emphasised that in the rapidly changing banking environment, the organisation needs to play a more active and effective role in raising employees’ concerns and ensuring timely solutions. Special emphasis was laid on collective efforts, organisational unity and safeguarding the rights and interests of employees.
It was also observed that the real strength of any organisation lies in the unity, trust and mutual cooperation of its members. All representatives were urged to actively participate in organisational activities and work collectively for the protection of employees’ rights and interests.
Union office-bearers reiterated that employee welfare, organisational strength and positive industrial relations remain among the organisation’s key priorities, and sustained efforts will continue in these areas in the future. Various office-bearers also shared their suggestions during the meeting, while discussions were held on the organisation’s upcoming programmes and future strategy.
The successful organisation of the meeting was made possible through the significant contribution of DGS and Organising Committee Convener Comrade Nishant Sharma, along with Comrade Tarun Tyagi, Regional Secretary; Comrade Mohit Verma, AGS; Comrade Himanshu Goyal, District Secretary; Comrade Navneet Bhagat, Joint Regional Secretary; and Comrade Bhagat Pravesh, Assistant Regional Secretary.
All office-bearers and members of the organising committee worked in close coordination to ensure the smooth conduct of the meeting and assisted in welcoming the delegates and making necessary arrangements.
The meeting concluded with a collective resolve to further strengthen organisational unity, safeguard the interests of bank employees, and play a positive and constructive role in addressing the challenges and opportunities facing the banking sector.
